In partnership with Pathyways2Industry by Goldelox Productions, Shaftesbury, Thunderbird Entertainment, Strada Films and NABET 700-M UNIFOR we’re excited to announce the 2019 edition of Live it to Learn it. Now in its fourth year Live it to Learn it provides three paid-internship positions that offer training and hands-on experience in production houses and on the sets of some of Toronto’s leading TV productions. The program is open to Black youth ages 18-26.
Interns will have a busy summer learning all about the many roles that exist behind-the-camera in the industry. Participating interns will leave at the end of the summer with contacts, training and certifications that will help to forge a deeper path for themselves in working in the industry.
The internship offers the following streams:
Stream 1: One internship for 16 days on the set of Kim’s Convenience. Dates: Friday, June 21st – Monday, July 15th.
Stream 2: One Internship for 20 days on set of Murdoch Mysteries. Dates: Monday, July 15th – Friday, August 9th.
Stream 3: One Internship on set of Frankie Drake Mysteries. Dates: TBD (approx. 4 weeks in July- August)
Application are now closed. Please follow us on social media @RegentParkFilm for updates.
Participants from all streams will receive training and certification from NABET 700-M UNIFOR.
Project History
Live It To Learn It was launched in 2016 in partnership with Strada Films, Thunderbird Productions and the hit series Kim’s Convenience. It was made possible by the vision and coordination of the supervising producers of the show, Robin Cass and Sandra Cunningham. Since then it has been embraced by the industry, upholding the shared value of facilitating greater diversity behind-the-scenes in the Film and TV industry.
