Introduction to Virtual Reality

In this workshop participants will learn a variety of possibilities for creating Virtual Reality projects, with a brief overview of using game engines to create interactive VR environments and 3D animation software to create 360° Videos that can be viewed through a smartphone. The instructor will be lead a demonstration of how to animate a 360° video. Be introduced to the history and basics of VR technology.

Instructor:

Jonathan Carroll is a digital media and performance artist who majored in Integrated Media at OCAD University. Jonathan is also a founding member of the performance art collective “Tough Guy Mountain,” for whom he develops software to facilitate interactions between the audience and the performers. For the past year, Jonathan has been implementing Virtual Reality technology into his practice, across a number of platforms.
